summary:
Isiyaku Ahmed in Kano visited the psychiatric hospital and had this report. In Nigeria, the psychiatric hospital in the northern town of Kano covered all forms of mental illness. The majority of psychiatric disorders were depression, schizophrenia and drug abuse. He also introduced the treatments doctors used usually. In addition, it accommodated patients from other northern Nigerian towns and neighboring countries like: - the Republic of Niger and Chad. Finally it stated government was assisting the hospital to meet with the public demand for mental psychological care. They needed more facilities, more funding and more man-power. Nevertheless, they were trying their best and they are achieving the best.

opinion:
Though the system in the psychiatric hospital is not good enough, they do their best, so lots of their patients get good treatments. I think drug treatment is not enough for patients, because they are psychiatric disorders. They have many social problems. They need more mental psychological care. In my point of view, these doctors need more training and then they can become stronger. The government needs to support them and provide them more facilities and funding. Consequently the whole system in this hosptial will become better, and patients will get more attention and treatment.
